Archery!

Today was an amazing day as the weather was picture perfect. We were so glad to get out of the house and enjoy time away from plumbing troubles and our hectic homeschool schedule. Both girls got to try archery for the first time today. And they both loved it! We may have found something that they can do together, with their dad, besides climbing. I may even try it out

Atlanta History Center

Field Trip season is well under way. We went to the Atlanta History Center today. The Ben Franklin Exhibit was OK, like much in Atlanta, great building but not much inside. Thankfully, the permanent exhibits were much better! The kids loved a Shot-Gun House from the Atlanta University area, as you were able to walk through and touch everything. A very important thing for a precocious seven-year-old! The house was donated to the history center after three generations of one family had lived there. The kids also liked looking at all the Olympic medals, discovery local folk art, and exploring Atlanta's history though pictures and artifacts.

We had our first silver jewelry class today. The girls learned how to light a torch, solder, and use a chemical bath to clean their silver pendents. Next week we will make chains to hang these creations.

When I feel a day of weakness I looks to the books or movies that have inspired me. I can think on none better than Lireal.
