A Golden Flop

We were so excited to see the Golden Compass today but as we left the theater all we could say to each other was... yuck. They took a great book, a great group of actors, amazing special effects, and made a cold rushed confusing wreak. I would think if one had not read the Pullman bks, they would be totally lost! At this point I am worried about the upcoming crop of films made from books our family has enjoyed. I may just wait for the dvd's. Bah humbug!
